Ghent and more medals for Millie!

Following a busy term training and an Easter training camp near Rotterdam, 16 year old Millie Hurrell recently rowed at the Ghent International Spring Regatta with Hartpury, competing in WU19 events.

In the quad she won a bronze medal, losing out to two crews rowing on home water but beating crews from Belgium, France, Ireland, Pangbourne and Tideway Scullers. In the double, she went one better to win a silver medal, losing by less than a length to a crew from Germany and easily beating crews from the Netherlands, France and Tideway Scullers.

Just a couple of weeks later, Millie and her doubles partner were back in the medals again with a silver in the WJ17 2x at the Junior Sculling Regatta at Eton Dorney, in a time of 7:37 for 2k. Amongst all this, Millie also found time to get back on home water trying out her new boat in the wind and rain in Ely. It was good to have her back training with our Junior crews! Now back at Hartpury, she has an exciting time ahead with plans to row at regattas including BUCS, Henley Women’s and Henley Royal.
