Club Water Safety Rules
Isle of Ely Rowing Club has a positive safety culture and follows the principles set out in British Rowing’s RowSafe Guide.
- Remember that most reported incidents are caused by equipment failure, not keeping a good lookout or being in the wrong part of the river.
- Assess risks and do your boat checks before each time you go rowing.
- If in doubt, stay close to the club or within the area you have been directed to. See the Navigation Maps and Circulation Guide for more details.
- Abide by the Club’s safety rules.
First Aid
There are first-aid boxes around the club, if you require them. They are:
- In the Gym Portacabin
- In the Yellow Safety Barrels carried in the launches
There is a defibrillator on the outside of the main portacabin.
