Golds at the Home International regatta

Millie Hurrell, representing Wales, has won two gold medals at this weekend’s Home International regatta in Ireland.

In the first race of the day (JW1x) Millie got off to a good start and, after a tight 250m, gradually opened up a gap, rowing steadily to win by 3 lengths in a personal best time of 8:22.9 for 2k.

Millie won a second gold as stroke of the JW4x in the 500m sprint. The crew got off to a good start, and stormed down the course rating 40 to a convincing win by 1 length in 1:40.6.

Also racing today was Phoebe Hayden, now rowing for Bath University, who represented England and won gold in the W2x and W4x events.

We are looking forward to seeing Millie at the club over the summer where she will be taking on the challenge of the Great Ouse Marathon before returning to Hartpury and the Performance Development Academy Programme (formerly World Class Start). We’re also delighted that Millie will be joining the Isle of Ely Juniors for their session on Tuesday evening.
