Junior Champs 2015

Many congratulations to Molly Johnson, Kate Lyster, Rebecca Welch, Emma Burnley-Davies & Emily May for their efforts at the 2015 British Rowing Junior Championships at Strathclyde.

Rowing as Isle of Ely/Reading:
Molly, Kate and Rebecca won Gold in WJ164X
Molly won Silver in WJ152X

And as Isle of Ely:
Rebecca & Kate won Bronze in WJ162X

The big dig has finished!

17 tons of excavator made short work of levelling the site! After one day, hardcore was already going down.  Racks have been put back and new racks built.  The site now looks immense.

Thanks to all the hard work by members clearing the site over the last two weekends, the machine had a clear run at it.

Zac Purchase to visit IOERC

Double Olympic medalist Zac Purchase will be making two visits to Isle of Ely Rowing Club as part of a Learn to Row course.

He will be visiting Ely as part of the scheme to get 17 to 25-year-olds rowing, which is funded by a Sportivate grant.

Dick Pryce-Jones 1948-2015

Dick was a member of IoERC since its foundation and a Vice-President from 2009.
 
He played a crucial role in the establishment of our club and continued to provide valuable advice and support for all our ventures.
 
His warmth, open personality and genuine interest in our activities won him numerous friends in Ely who will remember him with great affection and admiration.

Holly Hill Women's Boat Race

Congratulations to Holly Hill on being chosen for the number 6 seat in the Cambridge Blue Boat to race Oxford on 11th April.

Holly will be taking part in an especially historic event as it will be the first Women's University Boat Race to be rowed on the Putney to Mortlake course. Click here for more details.

BBC1 will cover the men's race at 4.50 pm and the women's at 5.50 pm.

We are a relatively new club founded in 2004.  The club was born out of the Diamond44 celebrations which marked the 60th anniversary of the 1944 University Boat Race rowed at Ely. The Club colours, dark blue for Oxford and light blue for Cambridge, symbolise this connection. We serve Ely and the area north of Cambridge
