A successful weekend for Isle of Ely Juniors

Juniors at Ball Cup South 2017

On Sunday 7th May, Seren Palmer and Emily May travelled to Eton Dorney to compete in the 2017 Ball Cup Regatta.  The aim of the Ball Cup is to give small and emerging clubs and their emerging competitors a chance to experience true competition and the chance to win.

Seren won gold in WJ13 1x and Emily won silver in WJ18 1x.

Kate Lyster was in action with Great Britain junior squad during the weekend’s Junior International Regatta in Munich.

One of six female scullers in a 32-strong squad announced by British Rowing, Kate competed over the 2,000m Olympic course in the junior women double sculls with Beth Willford-Dutton, from Northwich Rowing Club.

The duo then joined forces with Zoe Adamson (Gloucester RC) and Lottie Orr (Henley RC) in the junior women-quadruple sculls later the same day, finishing second in the final.

The International Junior Regatta is an annual event that attracts some of the best young rowers from across the world.

About us

We are a relatively new club founded in 2004.  The club was born out of the Diamond44 celebrations which marked the 60th anniversary of the 1944 University Boat Race rowed at Ely. The Club colours, dark blue for Oxford and light blue for Cambridge, symbolise this connection. We serve Ely and the area north of Cambridge
