Isle of Ely set to showcase their talents

Isle of Ely rowers will be competing in the British Rowing Sculling Festival taking place on on 13th and 14th August 2016 at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham

Imogen Magner will compete in the Beginners Event. Competing in the Women’s main event are Kate Lyster, Rebecca Welch, Alice Thompson, Emily May, Molly Johnson, Helena O Donnell, Freya Dingwall and Sam Champion in the Men’s main event. They are all part of the GB Start programme.

 

All competitors will be required to do a series of tests including the Manoeuvrability Test which will be scored according to the time taken to complete the test. Also, competitors will be assessed on five skills.

Competitors in the Beginners’ Event will be assessed on five of the Beginners’ Event Skills detailed below.

Competitors in the Main Event will be assessed on five skills selected from the Beginners’ Event and Main Event skills. Details of the skills can be found on the British Rowing website 

About us

We are a relatively new club founded in 2004.  The club was born out of the Diamond44 celebrations which marked the 60th anniversary of the 1944 University Boat Race rowed at Ely. The Club colours, dark blue for Oxford and light blue for Cambridge, symbolise this connection. We serve Ely and the area north of Cambridge
