On Saturday 21 November Isle of Ely club members ditched their lycra for black tie and enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal with plenty of drinking and dancing to a live band to celebrate the clubs 10th Anniversary.
The Maltings, Ely was filled with 145 guests including club members, friends and supporters of the club. A silent auction and raffle helped to raise over £4,000 towards the purchase of new equipment.
The prizes were generously donated by local businesses plus club members themselves donated a few of the auction lots on the night, including a one-on-one coaching session from Peter Lee, GB Start Coach and a session with a Start athlete of your choice!
Throughout the everning Jill McCulloch, with the help of other club members, ensured that the bidding frenzy on the silent auction continued and kept everyone updated with the latest bids.
Club Chairman and founder member, Derek Pickersgill was presented with the ‘Pickersgill Porthole’ as a thank you for his work over the last 10 year years from starting the club and turning it into the thriving community club it is today. Flowers were also presented to Vicky Parry and Club Captain Teresa Aslett.
Teresa summed up the evening "Absolutely everyone I spoke to said how much they'd enjoyed the evening and I can only add to that. From start to finish it was a top class event. The venue was great, the food was excellent and the band was great fun. Added to this the bonus of the fundraising part of the evening which I think everyone enjoyed"

The club would like to thank everyone who attended for their generous support and to G’s for sponsoring the drinks reception and Horizon Retail Marketing Solutions Ltd for their continued support of the club.
