Isle of Ely Rowing Club

.

How it operates

The race is held under British Rowing Rules of Racing and entry is made on line via BROE.

There is a rolling start with boats set off at approximately 1 minute intervals; with the slowest boats starting first competitors are timed over the course.

Isle of Ely Rowing Club will allocate race numbers and start positions based on estimated finishing times (which we ask you to include in the notes section of your race entry on BROE).

Detailed race instructions will be sent to competitors with the draw.

About us

We are a relatively new club founded in 2004.  The club was born out of the Diamond44 celebrations which marked the 60th anniversary of the 1944 University Boat Race rowed at Ely. The Club colours, dark blue for Oxford and light blue for Cambridge, symbolise this connection. We serve Ely and the area north of Cambridge
